I tried to teach ChatGPT how to use storytelling. The output? Very mediocre. Until...

I noticed that AI likes having the info delivered to it in chunks. (just like humans 😉) So, I decided to break down the prompt into smaller pieces. Here's how I did it:

1/ THE NAME First, I decided to give my AI a name: StoryEngine. Right away, I let the AI know its purpose and how I'll use it. Here's the first part of the output:

2/ THE FRAMEWORK Next, I had to tell AI what I expect from it. Now, storytelling in marketing isn't the same as writing a regular story. So, I decided it's best to describe storytelling for marketing using the StoryBrand framework:

3/ FORMAT Now, it's time to tell the AI what I actually want to write. First, I tried it out on a thread. I specified the number of tweets in the thread and the main topic I want to talk about in the story:

4/ ADDITIONAL DIRECTIONS In the last step, I included some more info about the output I wanted to get: • The tone of voice • The grammar forms • The language complexity It'll help StoryEngine adjust to my expectations better (and limit the editing time for me 😂)

5/ THE OUTCOME Now, let's see what StoryEngine got for us. ...and I can say: It's pretty damn good! It needs some tweaking, but we're off to a good start:
